Dr. Ghassan Shabaneh Joins AlJazeera Centre for Studies

Dr. Ghassan Shabaneh, formerly an Associate Professor at Marymount Manhattan College, has joined AlJazeera Centre for Studies in Doha. Dr. Shabaneh's research focus at the Centre will be on the US, Europe and the MENA region.

Dr. Ghassan Shabaneh, formerly an Associate Professor of International Studies at Marymount Manhattan College, has joined AlJazeera Centre for Studies in Doha. Dr. Shabaneh's research focus at the Centre will be on the US, Europe and the MENA region. He holds a PhD in International Studies and Political Science from the City University of New York (CUNY) and a Master in International Relations from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. In addition to several studies and opinion pieces which have been published by national and international media and research centres, Dr. Shabaneh has published several studies in peer-reviewed journals, including "Refugees, International Organizations and the National Identity: The Case of Palestine", and "Education and Identity: The Role of UNRWA's Education Programmes in the Reconstruction of Palestinian Nationalism". He is a regular guest on many local, national and international media outlets, including AlJazeera, WABC, WNBC, WCBC, CBC, BBC and others, providing expert opinions on American foreign policy in the Middle East, the Arab-Israeli conflict and Islam and the west.
