Al Jazeera Centre for Studies, in collaboration with Al Jazeera Mubasher channel, organizes a seminar entitled “The U.S. Presidential Election and its Impact on Arab Issues in Light of the Declared Positions of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump” on Tuesday, 11 October 2016 at 7:00 pm at Al Jazeera Media Training and Development Centre Auditorium.
The seminar hosts: Mohammed Cherkaoui, Professor of Conflict Resolution at George Mason University in Washington D.C., Marwan Bishara, Researcher and Political Analyst at Al Jazeera Media Network, Shafeeq Ghabra, Professor of Political Science at Kuwait University and Visiting Professor at the Arab Centre for Research and Policy Studies in Doha, and Abderrahim Foukara, Al Jazeera's Bureau Chief in Washington D.C.
The seminar aims to provide an in-depth reading of how the next U.S. president will deal with the issues of the Arab region, from the Palestinian cause and Arab-Israeli conflict, to the Syrian crisis, relations with Iran, the war on "terrorism," and Gulf-US relations – especially in light of the recent passing of the JASTA Law. The seminar will also delve into whether the Arabs have a vision of how they will deal with the next US president, the role that the Arab community could play in the elections, and the extent of this role's impact on the U.S. position on the issues of the Arab-Muslim world.
