Al Jazeera Centre for Studies Is the 5th of the Most influential studies Centres in the Middle East and North Africa

The Al Jazeera Centre for Studies has occupied the 5th rating among the most influential think tanks/ centres and study centers in the Middle East and North Africa for 2015, according to the "World Index of research centres for the year 2015".

The Al Jazeera Centre for Studies has occupied  the 5th  rating among the most influential think tanks/ centres and study centers in the Middle East and North Africa for 2015, according to the "World Index of research centres for the year 2015", issued by the research institutions and civil society organizations program at the American University of Pennsylvania, which announced its results on Wednesday, 27 January 2016 at United Nations Headquarters and the World Bank. 

This progress of the Al Jazeera Centre for Studies is after three consecutive years in which the Centre has occupied the 6th  rating in the competitive list of study centres in the Middle East and North Africa region with more than 500 centres.

According to  Al Jazeera Centre for Studies, there are many reasons for progressing in classification of study centres, most notably: first of all, keeping up with its studies and researches to the rhythm of the rapid political changes in the Middle East, and the commitment of its researchers at the same time with the discreet research and academic standards. Then, attributing to the diversity of its research activities that have contributed to the deepening of understanding of the complex of the region's conflicts, and the center, in collaboration with the Al-Jazeera network channels in Arabic, English, Turkish, and Balkan and digital platforms, can access by those events and research activities to millions of viewers across the world.

Since 2006, it is noteworthy that the program of the research institutions and civil society organizations at the American University of Pennsylvania have the classification of the world's leading Think Tanks in order to reach a better understanding of the role these think tanks play on the level of governments and civil societies, and they issue an annual index of the most important influential study centers at the regional and global levels.

To achieve this goal, the Civil Society Program has prepared data of the think tanks around the world in 6828 tanks. Therefore, the arbitrators network includes 25,000 journalists, policy-makers, private and public donors, and specialists are asked to evaluate these tanks to know the most influential of them.

The global index of the research centres is considered to be  one of the important tools to measure the performance of these centres, and it depends on several criteria, notably: the effective management of research programs, mobilizing the necessary financial and human resources to implement these programs, the impact of research outputs on society and policy-makers, as well as how much research and quality production, and the number of the visitors on the internet digital platforms.
