Al Jazeera Centre for Studies and Al Jazeera Mubasher to organise a seminar entitled "Six years after the Arab revolutions: Why Tunisia succeeded while others failed?"‎‎

‎Al Jazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS) and Al Jazeera Mubasher are jointly organising a seminar entitled "Six years after the Arab revolutions: Why Tunisia succeeded while others failed?" on Tuesday, 17 January 2017 at 7:00 pm at Al Jazeera Media Training and Development Centre Auditorium near the TV Roundabout.‎‎

‎‎Tunisia has undergone a momentous transitional process and started a phase of enhancing its democratic experience following the election of the National Assembly that brought to power three political parties in the "Troika" experience.‎‎ ‎‎As the constitution of the Second Republic was passed, and legislative and presidential elections were held in 2014, the Tunisian experience is now marked by stability as a result of a political consensus in which politicians have agreed on a set minimum of cooperation.‎‎ However, ‎the success of the Tunisian experience is likely to be compromised given the floundering economy and the enormous crisis coupled with continuous security threats.‎‎ ‎‎The seminar aims to examine the uniqueness of Tunisian experience in the past six years, and define what it is that sets it apart from the experiences of the rest of the Arab Spring countries.

The speakers will be ‎‎Dr.‎‎ ‎‎ Rafik Abdessalem, Former Tunisian Foreign Minister; Dr.‎‎ ‎‎Ziad Majed, Professor of Political Science at the American University of Paris; Professor Larbi Sadiki, Professor at the University of Qatar and Dr.‎‎‎‎ Tarek al-Zumar, Chairman of the Building and Development Party in Egypt.

‎‎
The seminar will be broadcast on Al Jazeera Mubasher
