AJCS Participates in 28th Doha Book Fair

Al Jazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS) took part in the 28th Doha International Book Fair entitled, “Towards a Conscious Society”, from 29 November to 5 December 2017.

Al Jazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS) took part in the 28th Doha International Book Fair entitled, “Towards a Conscious Society”, from 29 November to 5 December 2017.

During the event, AJCS showcased a wide collection of its publications, which include 100 titles from this year alone. AJCS also held three book-signings in the venue’s Cultural Council Hall. The signing of the first book, The Blockade of Qatar: The Contexts and Repercussions of the Gulf Crisis, took place in a special ceremony on Thursday evening, 30 November 2017. It also included an open discussion on the book.

The signing of the second book, My Story, took place on Friday, 1 December 2017.

Constants and Transformations in the Course of Qatari Women’s Evolvement: 1995-2013 is the title of the third book that was signed, also in a special ceremony held on Sunday evening, 3 December 2017.

This year, the book fair attracted 355 publishing houses representing 29 Arab and foreign countries at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. In addition to AJCS’s publications, the fair, which was open to the public, showcased the releases published by Al Jazeera Public Liberties and Human Rights Centre and Al Jazeera Media Institute.
