A delegation of researchers from the Center of Political Studies at the Indonesian Institute of Sciences visited Al Jazeera Centre for Studies in Doha, Tuesday, 2 April 2019, as a part of their tour of several educational and research institutions in Qatar.

Members of the delegation and AJCS management and researchers discussed the Gulf crisis, with a particular focus on its political and economic impact. The discussion covered several prominent variables in the region, particularly the US sanctions on Iran and their effect of Iran’s influence in the region; the status of the Palestinian cause in light of the so-called “Deal of the Century”, and the current tide of collective action sweeping across Algeria and Sudan as an another episode of the open-ended 2011 uprisings.

The Indonesian delegation also expressed interest in the dynamics of the Qatari-Asian relations, and the prospects of cooperation between AJCS and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences.
