“Deal of the Century” under the Spotlight in ACJS/Al-Zaytouna Conference in Beirut

Al Jazeera Centre for Studies and Al Jazeera Mubasher are holding a seminar, in partnership with Al-Zaytouna Centre for Studies and Consultations, in Beirut on 16 July 2019 with the participation of a selected group of researchers and experts. The focus of this gathering is the context, tenets, and challenges of the US-initiated “deal of the century” as well as its Impact on Lebanon and the rest of the Middle East. Panelists will address the controversy around the “deal” after US president’s senior advisor, Jared Kushner, highlighted its claimed “economic benefits” for the Palestinians and other nations in the region in the recent meeting in Manana, Bahrain. They will also discuss the positions of concerned parties at the domestic level in Lebanon and the regional level.

The conference is expected to develop a future-oriented outlook of the “deal” and whether the so-called “economic prosperity” would help achieve peace in the Middle East. The panels will be carried live on Al Jazeera Mubasher and various Al Jazeera social media platforms.
