In keeping with the topic of the discussion, the lecture addressed the following points: What are the advantages and disadvantages of liberal democracy? What are the main challenges of establishing successful democratic governance in the Arab world? What are the regional and international challenges involved? How can the Arab world contribute to developing an ideal model of democracy based on their social and cultural values? How can the emerging Arab democracies establish an Islamic-Arab concept of democratic governance? How can a political system, through democratic means fight corruption that strikes at the heart of democracy that corrodes rule of law, democratic institutions and public trust in leaders?
