| Dr. Abdel Wahab Al Afandi |
Abdel Wahab Al Afandi, Associate Professor of Political Science and Programme Coordinator of The Democracy and Islam Programme at the Centre for the Study of Democracy at the University of Westminster, is being hosted by Al Jazeera Center for Studies for two weeks as of 30 March 2013. He will coordinate with the center to produce a number of research projects during his stay in Doha. This level of coordination will affect the development of the center performance positively.
Dr. Al Afandi is scheduled to hold discussion sessions with panels from the center's research and publications and relations departments, which will enrich the center's experience in the field of research and publications.
Born in 1955, Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Afandi got into journalism at an early age. He studied at Sudanese and British universities and worked in diplomacy. He also published several books in both English and Arabic on various political and intellectual issues in addition to many articles in several newspapers and magazines in both Arabic and English. Furthermore, he is research fellow at the Program on Global Change in the British Research Council.
