Conflict Resolution and Management Concepts Seminar

AJCS held a seminar on Conflict Resolution and Management at the Ritz Hotel in Doha on Wednesday 9 April 2014”. The seminar consisted of three panelists: Dr. Sami Al-Khazandar, Dr. Luay al-Safi, Dr. Tatiana Zhurzhenko Ukrainian, and Dr. Sidi Ahmed Wild Ahmed Salim.

Al Jazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS)  held  a seminar on  Conflict Resolution and Management at the Ritz Hotel in Doha on Wednesday 9 April 2014”.

The seminar consisted of three panelists:
Dr. Sami Al-Khazandar, Researcher,  and author of  “Conflict Management and Resolution: A Theoretical Framework”.
Dr. Luay al-Safi, a Syrian researcher and political activist.
Dr. Tatiana Zhurzhenko, Ukrainian researcher.
Dr. Sidi Ahmed Wild Ahmed Salim, Researhcer at Al Jazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS).

Al-Khazandar spoke about the birth and evolution of peace and conflict studies.  He presented an in-depth theoretical framework of conflict studies and conflict resolution,  explained the reasons and types of civil and international conflicts and shed light on the various resolution and prevention mechanisms.

Among the other participants in the seminar was Dr. Luay Al Safi who talked extensively above the three year Syrian conflict and how the theoretical principles on conflict resolution could  be implemented in resolving the Syrian conflict.

Dr. Tatiana Zhurzhenko shed light on the current Ukrainian and regional crisis also explaining the international dimension to the conflict..

Finally, Dr. Sidi Ahmed Wild Ahmed Salim gave an interesting input about the  conflict in Central African Republic (CAR).  He explained the reasons to the conflict, , warn of its repercussions and ramifications and presented possible resolution mechanisms to the conflict.
