On 5 April 2016, AlJazeera Centre for Studies and AlJazeera Mubasher will launch their first joint monthly dialogue, ‘Discussion Issue’, in Doha. The first dialogue, ‘Post-Geneva Talks: What Happens Next?’ will address the future of a political settlement in Syria in light of the recent Geneva talks, as well as the opportunities for success and consequences of failure.

The panellists include Riad Nasan Agha, member of the Syrian opposition’s Higher Negotiation Committee (HNC); Sulaiman al-Oqaili, a Saudi political analyst and writer; and Evgeny Sidorov, a Russian political analyst. The dialogue will be held in AlJazeera Media Training and Development Center’s auditorium.

This session will be the first in a series to be aired on AlJazeera Mubasher the first Tuesday of every month from 7:00 to 8:00 pm (GMT). Panellists will discuss current and relevant geopolitical issues, with a focus on key actors, implications of developments in the region and proposed solutions to these issues. The sessions are designed to add depth to existing research debates and provide the audience and social media users with opportunities to interact with experts, researchers and decision-makers.
