Asylum in Islamic Historiography and the International and Arab Legal Systems

This book raises several interrelated questions about Islam’s view of the refugee issue considering many refugees come from Islamic countries. It also discusses the laws concerning asylum seekers and reviews the Islamic principles addressing the issue of asylum. In addition, it compares the said principles to the Geneva Convention of 1951, and analyses the laws dealing with asylum in certain Arab countries and the extent of their compatibility or incompatibility with Islamic and international law.
