Civil-Military Relations and Democratic Transition in Egypt

This book aims to identify the factors through which the nature of civil-military relations can be understood. It explores the position of the military establishment towards the process of democratisation in general. It also deals with the Arab Spring by analysing events Egypt has witnessed over the six decades following the establishment of the republican system, the role of the military in the political process, and the implications for the process of democratic transformation.
