AJCS seminar: the Battle for Idlib as Another Escalation in the Syrian Crisis

Al Jazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS) and Al Jazeera Mubasher Channel are hosting a live interactive seminar to explore the security and military conditions in Idlib and their political, military and humanitarian repercussions on the eight-year-long Syrian crisis under the title, “Idlib and the course of the Syrian crisis,” at at Al Jazeera Media Institute Auditorium in Doha on Tuesday, 3 March 2020, at 7:00 pm.

A number of analysts and experts will discuss the motivates and reasons behind the recent escalation in Idlib, shifts in the positions and roles of key actors and their impact on the crisis, and the different approaches to negotiation and future prospects nearly nine years of the Geneva Process mediated by leading UN diplomat Lakhdar Brahimi June 30, 2012. The seminar comes in the wake of the vast military and security escalation in Idlib and clashes between the Assad regime forces and the Turkish military that started last December.
