AJCS webinar to discuss Libyan elections and their implications

15 February 2022

Al Jazeera Centre for Studies is organising a webinar in collaboration with Al Jazeera Mubasher entitled, “Prospects for Solving the Libyan Crisis in 2022,” set to take place on Thursday, 17 February 2022, at 5:30 pm Mecca standard time on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the Libyan revolution and in light of the struggles and polarisations that the Libyan arena is currently experiencing on the backdrop of the postponed presidential elections.

The webinar will host a select group of Libyan politicians, experts and researchers and discuss the whether the presidential elections will take place this year in the absence of a political consensus in Libya.

The webinar will also explore the opportunities available to the Libyan parties and factions to reach an understanding that can bridge the gap between them and spare the country of a civil war, which some expect as an aftermath of the elections.

The webinar will be broadcast on Al Jazeera Mubasher and live-streamed on AJCS’s digital platforms:
