Al Jazeera Centre for Studies (AJCS) and Al Jazeera Mubasher are jointly organising a seminar entitled “After Trump’s decision on Jerusalem: What future awaits the Palestinian question?” on Thursday, 21 December 2017, at 7: 00 PM at Al Jazeera Media Training and Development Centre Auditorium.
With the participation of a group of researchers and politicians, the seminar will delve into the implications of US President Donald Trump’s announcement of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on 7 December 2017 and the relocation of the US embassy to Jerusalem.
It will also attempt to highlight the impact of this decision on the Palestinians and examine whether it would prompt agreement on a struggle-based vision that would reshape their national aspirations for the future. The seminar will also review the impact of the decision on current political alliances in the Middle East.
Finally, the seminar will forecast the future of the Palestinian question and whether the two-state solution is still viable under the harmful effects of the US role as a peace broker.
