is a Senior Researcher at Al Jazeera Centre for Studies, overseeing studies on the Arab Mashreq (Levant region) and Islamist movements. From 2002 to 2008, he worked as a researcher at Al Jazeera Net, covering major regional events, including the 2003 war in Iraq and the 2006 Israeli war on Lebanon. He holds a PhD in Islamic Studies, specialising in Law and the Principles of Fiqh.

His research focuses on regional transformations and domestic crises in the Arab Mashreq, the Arab-Israeli conflict and Islamist movements, particularly their intellectual and jurisprudential discourses and political orientations.

He has contributed to several edited volumes, including “The Palestinian Struggle: Transformations and Challenges”, “Non-State Actors in Yemen”, “The Islamic State: Origins, Threat and Future”, “Islamists after 7 October: Questions of Identity and Destiny”, and “Islamists after a Decade of the Arab Spring”.

His published studies include “Hezbollah and Its Narrative of the Syrian War and the Sectarian Question”, “The Scholars of the Jihadi Movement: Discourse, Role and Future”, and “The Lebanese Movement, its Arab Context and the Challenges of a Third Attempt at the Taif Accords”.
